Hi all!
Does anyone know if Louisiana State University's SLP program is more clinically based or research based?

Hi! I'm looking to apply to grad schools in Texas for 2010. Ideally I would like to go to University of Texas at Austin- but I had missed the deadline. The grad program closest to Austin is TSU. Does anyone have any information on the city of San Marcos? Also- how are Dallas and Houston? I'm not familiar with any of the cities (I know they have pretty decent speech programs) but I would like to know which one is the "better" city.
Which one is more lively?
Which one has the least crime rate?
Which one is younger?

Thanks!

sooo i was all ready to be done with this whole applying to grad school process and today i met with one of my professors to get my last letter of rec. she gave me a bunch of advice which i really appreciate but at the same time im freaking out now. she told me that i should take the gre again and try to improve my verbal score of 450 and essay of 3.5 (my math was 610). I work as a part time nanny of a family with a special needs daughter and she suggested that i use them as a recommender (which i already did). BUT she said that should only be used as an extra. Like.. if a school asks for 3 letters I should give them 3 from professor's and then use the one form my employer as extra. I saw the letter from the employer and I thought it was really good and still talks about the field but I understand what she is saying. What do you guys think? Should I try to get a 4th letter from another professor?

**FINAL EDIT Thu Dec 10 02:15:47 UTC 2009**

So there is the final update... Over the past day we have processed around 11 million jobs out of the 12 million that were in queue at that time. Please bear in mind that over this past day, more jobs for notifications are also created. So while the queue has been dropping, we are still not fully caught up at this point, due to backlog and new jobs. We have roughly 3 million jobs still pending that involve the notification system in some manner. We had hoped we could have fully cleared the queue in a day, but unfortunately we can't clear it too quickly, since we need the rest of the site to operate normally. From our current perspective on the amount of jobs that are left in queue, and how many it has processed thus far, we believe it will take around another 8 - 12 hours to process everything.

And finally some answers to some questions:
